Recently, we had the opportunity to assist a homeowner in Camas, WA, who was facing a significant issue with moss growth on their roof. The moss had become so dense that it blanketed the majority of the shingles, giving the roof an aged and neglected appearance. Understandably, the homeowner was concerned about the potential damage the moss could cause, including leaks and deterioration of the roof structure.
The roof’s location in a heavily shaded area, surrounded by trees, created the perfect environment for moss to thrive. Moss holds moisture, which over time can cause the shingles to degrade and lead to more serious problems like leaks and structural damage.
